Advance renewable wind, solar and bio-fuel energy research and development
Require new state buildings to incorporate LEED energy standards
Require state agencies to reduce energy consumption by entering into Energy Savings Performance Contracts
McGillis will demand that we develop, implement and enforce the state's environmental protection laws that ensure clean air, clean water, clean soil, safe pesticides and waste recycling and reduction. Florida must be at the forefront of environmental science, using cutting-edge research to shape the state's environmental laws.

Under a McGillis administration Florida will enact a "Do Not Mail" law. The law will prohibit the stacks of "junk mail" each Floridian receives via the United States Postal Service. Florida will levy fines on any person or corporation who purposefully sends "junk mail" to any Florida resident who has added their name to the "Do Not Mail" list.
